an exciting day

yesterday was an exciting day for me. i was out the whole day alone, i mean not with my husband or daughters with me. sometimes it excites me to go out alone, though in old days i was in the company of my best friend who is now departed. (i’ll write a separate blog on her)

had an early lunch, dressed up (got a new pair of sandals i bought on sale the day before, wore tights for the first time with a long blouse to match, excited na ako noon).

sale sa southmall(sm), naglakad lakad, looking at some bargain items na hindi ko naman binili. i did buy something pala, a brown leather wallet to match my new sandals and native bag, and another new book at national. after an hour or two, got tired of walking, on to fast food and ate french fries with bottled water. am getting conscious of what to eat these days at fast foods; afraid of fats and calories and sugar.

rode a jeep to alabang and then bus to greenhills. i had a date with lottie. she texted me okay lang na maaga ako, wala ang boss niya so we can watched sarah and john llyd movie first at promenade.  had our snacks at won ton with nestor. (t’was a friday and i ordered shrimp noodles and another shrimp dumplings). i couldn’t remember the last time i saw a movie, so another added excitement for me. saka promenade ito, a place where the well to dos watch movies and go to.

then at 8:30, went to music museum to watch the concert of victor wood, jun polistico and anthony castelo. (he he that’s one reason na wala akong kasama, ayaw nila ng concert, for senior citizens lang daw to). we had a good view of the stage, thanks to jenny who reserved seats for us. true enough, looking at the audience, most of them are oldies, some with alalays, drivers and other companions to accompany them.

lottie and i enjoyed the show, everytime an old song was sung, we couldn’t help but smile with each other, with matching applause as all the others in the audience did. the songs they sang, dance movements they did, the jokes they had, stories during their times, our times. t’was a nostalgic moment especially for me. i remembered the good old days, i remember miya, a relative and our househelp who was an avid fan many many years ago. i told my folks when i arrived at 1 am, sulit.

again, every time i experience such things as above, as i think of the past, i am very thankful to the Lord for all the fun and laughter, for the enjoyment i am enjoying now at this time of my life.  i praise Him for everything!!!!
